Jeff Maples – Wisconsin Leadership

Jeff always believed there was “a higher power”. In 2011, God lit a fire in Jeff and thus began a search for answers. He was involved in a motorcycle accident that nearly took his life. He remembers waking up twelve days later with a lot of questions but one statement, “He is not done yet” and knowing he needed to get back to church. After finally being released from the hospital, with assistance from a walker and his wife, Jenny, he attended a local service. Jeff overheard a conversation that day that fanned the fire from 2011, a conversation from a guy that left Jeff wanting more. Jeff felt pulled to talk with that guy and found himself talking with Bill Casey. And if any of you are blessed enough to have known Bill, you know the conversation quickly turned to Misfits For Jesus church. As Bill talked with jeff, he became more excited and curious about this church. On Saturdays? A BUS?! Real people like you and me that need help from real people like you and me? Still feeling incomplete but definitely in the store trying on shoes, Bill told Jeff about FaithFest, a party in the park where Jesus is the center of everything. Jeff agreed but his work schedule was not going to allow Jeff the opportunity to attend. Of course, God had other plans. The delivery for Jeff’s job that weekend was sent to a different location and would not be in until the following Monday. Jeff was able to attend FaithFest. Still reluctant, not knowing what it was all about, Jeff tried to keep to himself but eventually, as will happen around any Misfit, Randy introduced himself to Jeff and then another Misfit and another, until Jeff felt like he had known these guys his entire life. And of course, Bill was there through everything. Jeff couldn’t get up to the Randy fast enough after an alter call. He was immediately surrounded by the Missouri Misfits, the Wisconsin Misfits and of course, the warm hand on his back was Bill. Bill  eventually became a big part of Jeff’s life and never tired of all of the questions. Jeff’s relationship with Jesus has grown stronger and after the passing of Bill, Jeff was asked to step up and become part of the Misfits Wisconsin leadership team. He encourages anybody who is looking, just starting out or been involved for 60 years to join him in journey with Jesus. Jeff lives in Eagle, Wisconsin with his wife, Jenny.
