Don Reid – Chapter President, Wisconsin
Don was born and raised in a Christian home. His parents felt it was important for Don and his four siblings to get a great Christian education so they spent eight years in a Lutheran school. It was in fifth grade that Don gave his life to Christ but the years that followed he was a lukewarm Christian at best.
In 1977, Don met the love of his life, Cammy. Don couldn’t resist her deep love of Jesus and they got married a year later. Don recommitted his life to Jesus and got back into the Word but it took about 25 years for Cammy and Don to get baptized.
Not long after Don met his best friend, Bill Casey. They attended bible studies together and started working on a new church startup. Bill always had a big heart for the broken and the homeless. He started a new Celebrate Recovery and Don worked alongside Bill running a recovery group for teens. It was about a year later Bill became involved with Misfits for Jesus and became the Chapter President for Wisconsin. Loving the idea of the Misfit mission, Don and Cammy came on board right from the beginning.
He did not know how this journey as a Misfit was going to change his life. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Being all in and following Jesus in a way Don never knew possible. In 2018 Don felt God telling him to trust Him even more, Don became a Pastor. Cammy started running the food part of the ministry (Mrs. Fits Kitchen) organizing the meals that were served feeding as many as 100 homeless on a weekend.
Bill Casey passed away in January of 2020 and Don felt Gods calling to step up to lead Misfits For Jesus in Wisconsin. Don and Cammy live in Big Bend, Wisconsin. They have been happily married for over 40 years and have four children, two boys and two girls.
